2 November 2008: DRAGON*CON did not happen. A series of unfortunate events overtook Casa Conley and resulted is a lot of negative flow. The good news though is we have finally developed the fantasy section of the rule set and are working to polish it up for use during the next year or so of Cons. Our first play test in public will be at FALL-IN in Gettysburg, PA. Then MARSCON in Jan 2009. THEN if the stars align (and my company wins the contract) DRAGON*CON 2009 in Atlanta!
11 May 2008: Preps continue for DRAGON*CON 08. Web site continues to receive its make-over. There is even talk of going "Pro" with a defense contractor hiring the crew to run one of our games to demonstrate some nascent concepts. Seems people like to be able to Look and Touch things more than just looking at a computer screen. Will keep you informed.
26 Apr 2008: Updated the CONVENTIONS section so you can see some of the great pics from prior conventions. You can also see the transformation the game has taken in the form of how we do our terrain.

What's New:
30 Jan 2008: Another year has come and gone. This past 2007 has proven to be rather significant as I changed jobs. A very big step. We had a successful convention at MARSCON 2008 and are working to rebuild the table for DRAGON*CON 2008. We have a lot of big dreams and I hope we will be able to deliver on them all. Now that I have changed jobs I hope to have a little more time to maintain the web site. Good luck to me! :)
2 Aug 2007: WOW! It has been a long time since I accessed this page. I think I will have to turn it into a more conventional BLOG soon. That seems to be the trend. Well, we went to Historicon, the premier Historical miniatures convention hosted by the Historical Miniatures Gaming Society (HMGS) East. Not much has changed. A lot of overweight, hygienically challenged people generally slothing around complaining about one thing or another. It almost seemed that there was negative energy there. This is the opposite of what I feel at Sci-Fi conventions. Those tend to feel alive with more positive energy. I guess its a matter of which way they are looking. HMG players are looking backward, SCIFI players are looking forward. I think the same holds true for life as well.
2 May 2006: Updated the QFN page to show the Fall In 04 NAP-SMACK Game.
27 APR 2006: Preps are underway for DRAGON*CON 06. 6' x 18' table with 25mm minis. It promises to be another outstanding game experience. Stay tuned for more info.
29 JAN 2006: Happy New Year! Had a great time at MARSCON, until the fire alarm went off. Still not sure we were the cause. Two days of constant use of our smoke generator did not set it off. How we set off the smoke detector in the NEXT room and not the two in our room is still a riddle. At any rate. We have decided to use a set of skirmish rules for this years convention games. We are also going to try to go to DRAGON*CON this year. Should be a good time. As we look at the various conventions this year we see a lot of overlap, so it may be difficult to make the ones we want to. We shall see.
8 NOV 2005: Miniatures for FALL-IN! 05 completed. Have fallen a bit behind on getting all the supporting documents done (damn work!). Luckily a few friends have chipped in to take up the slack and all should be ready to go come Friday.
2 Nov 2005: Had a great rehearsal at PAX River for the Quickfire Moderns Game slated fro FALL-IN 05. Pics HERE. Have done a minor upgrade to the web site and will continue to press forward as the game line expands.
23 OCT 2005: Almost ready for FALL-IN 05. Have loaded the OPORDER, DATA BASE and QUICK REF sheet to the CONVENTIONS page.
3 OCT 2005: My how time flies! Have been VERY involved in ensuring that whole "money-for-food"..."Thing" functions, sorry for the delays. Working on a "Near" modern 6mm game for FALL-IN! 05. USMC vs. China. Well OVER 5K minis. Should be rather appealing. The Rules, should they appear to work will be posted as "Quickfire Moderns" in the rules and tools sections in the next few weeks.
Jonathan (J3P) did a magnificent job of running a QF game at Dragon*Con 05 in Sept, pics are HERE.
I have posted the QF rules to the rules and tools section for a while as I have received a few requests. Again, sorry for the delays.
28 Jun 2005: Holy Smoke, it has been six months! Well, we are preparing for TRINOC*CON next month. A lot has happened in the gaming world. Our community has been doing a lot of AN gaming with our PCs. We are now working on getting some miniature games going again, and I hope to do a few more updates as we develop our campaign again.
17 JAN 05: HAPPY NEW YEAR! MARSCON is next weekend! We spent all day Saturday prepping the board and equipment for shipment. We have added some serious sound for the 2005 season! A 60watt sub woofer and powered speakers for high end let you feel the giant gun fire! We are looking at actually adding a real laser to the cannon assembly. With the smoke at both ends of the table it should look cool. In addition to those additions, we revamped the lighting and hung some dual 4' black-lights over the city section of the board and using the PVC frame that holds them, we put a sheet of black plastic over the top. This limits the white light on the board and REALLY enhances the effect we were looking for. Well, I hope to have some pics up of the game in short order after the con.
18 DEC 2004: Holy COW! It has been over three years since I started this thing! Cool! We are now in the throes of preparing for MARSCON! Hope to see you there!
20 OCT 2004: Preparations continue in earnest for the QFN NAP SMACK going at the HMGS FALL-IN! convention next month. The QFN section of the web has been updated with rules, templates and reference sheets.
7 SEP 2004: Well, we "did" DRAGON*CON. What an interesting experience. (Some pics) Was it worth it? Perhaps in the fullness of time. It was VERY expensive to get and stay there, both in time and money. The interaction during the evenings was wonderful. Additionally, we made some contacts with TRINOC CON staff and are on track to participate there in Jul 2005.
24 Jul 2004: We had a great series of games at the WAR ROOM in Atlanta, GA today. All of the players were well grounded in basic gaming and things moved along rather well. Jonathan did a GREAT job of setting everything up. I was not able to get to the Hotel to do a photo recon. Jonathan has volunteered to handle that and forward the pictures. All-in-all an enjoyable event. Look HERE for pics from the game.
16 Jun 2004: WOW! Today is my last full day on active duty in the USMC! 26 years! I MADE IT!! Now on to important stuff. I have modded the QFN rules and posted them in the down load section. Please take a look and send feed back. John C is working the National morale and unit skill ratings this week and I hope to have a further update soon. Dragon*Con is progressing, we will begin game board maintenance soon. Look for the OPTEMPO to pick up on that front. Also looking to put on another LAN party in the next 30 days or so. I'll keep you posted.
31 MAR 2004: Updated the main page in a hope to make it more usable to new comers. We have set up a LAN party for 10 April. Work has been a real pain and preventing devotion to a lot of miniature play. I hope to get this under control soon.
24 Feb 2004: A great set of games at WBC this past Saturday. We cranked out two good space games with a lot of detail, a lot of new players and as always, a lot of carnage. Unfortunately we had to bid farewell to the "Ork Queen" She is off to other lands and we wish her luck. We will miss you! :)
7 Feb 2004: Well, we had a great time at MARSCON this year. The board looked great and everyone that played said they had a great time. The support, as always, was fantastic and I think we made a good impression. We have been invited to participate at DRAGON CON 2004 in Atlanta GA this year and we are in the middle of negotiating the particulars of that now. I will keep you posted. There will be a space game on 21 Feb at Worlds Best Comics in Newport News. Game start time is noonish. It should be a good time. I am continuing to work on the Napoleonic rules (QFN) in preparation for the NAPSMACK game we are going to have at HISTORICON in July. I will try to do a better job of keeping the site updated with the goings on of the community. I promise!! ;)
1 Jan 2004: HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! Well, let's see. We played a Napoleonic's Game in December (pics in the QFN section). I am developing a set of quick play Napoleonic rules called QFN. They are available for review in the QFN section. Your comments are welcome. They are a work in progress. MARSCON is approaching and there will be a board repair party this month to get everything ready. Date has not yet been set but it will be soon. I have established a BATTLEFIELD 1942 section. It has consumed some of my time. This game is AWESOME! I have never been a big first person shooter (FPS) player. But this game allows you to do so much more and the most fun is when you cooperate with your team mates. It is great. The BF section is new and won't have too much on it but I envision it containing coordination info for games as well as small software apps (like Roger Wilco) to help us out. More to follow.
1 Nov 2003: Added count-down timers to the convention page.
29 Oct 2003: Updated the play test photo page with pics from 25 Oct game. A huge success! Thanks to all that participated. Next events are at FALL-IN! in November.
17 Oct 2003: The next play test of ADIEMUS is tomorrow (Saturday 18 Oct) at worlds best comics. Last weekend Kelly and I put in the first half of the storage loft for our game gear. Have been out of town, so looking forward to the game tomorrow.
30 Sep 03: The FALL-IN web site has added the advert for our game! It looks really COOL! I have updated the QF CONVENTION site with some pics from past conventions. If you have pics from past conventions, please send them in for inclusion.
28 Sep 03: Games scheduled for 18 and 25 Oct at Worlds Best Comics. 1200 until.
19 Sep 03: Survived Isabelle. Looking for the next game on Oct 25th at Worlds Best Comics. Look at the updated pics of the board HERE.
14 Sep 03: The play test was an unqualified success! PICS HERE. More pics to follow as other players submit their snaps. We have struck a deal with World's Best Comics to provide storage space for the board and sundry war gaming supplies. This will make things MUCH easier as we will not have to cross the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel with the trailer, every time we want to play! :) We will test the game again in Oct. Of note: It took 2.5 hours to unpack and set-up the board/troops. It took 30min to break it down and store it (it will take much longer at the cons as we will have to PACK it vs. STORE it). But all-in-all, a VERY successful endeavor. My sincere thanks to all that played Saturday, and I hope more will play in October (exact date TBD).
11 Sep 03: WOW! Our Game has been designated a SHOWCASE EVENT by HMGS EAST for their FALL-IN convention in mid November.. I am very excited. I have posted some new pictures HERE of the board with the smoke and lights working. We play test it this Saturday at worlds best comics. What an endeavor!
4 Sep 2003: Posted the OPORDER for our next game. Scheduled our next game at worlds best comics for 13 Sept. We will play test the entire board
3 Sep 2003: Well, the 24 foot long board for Fall-In and MARSCON is nearly complete. I am wiring the lights today, working on the smoke plan, configuring the sound system and thinking of working on a new transport system. I have been going over game mechanics with a host of folks and it looks like the concepts are valid. We'll know for sure when we play test it this month. A .zip file with pics will be up soon.
10 Aug 2003: Well, We are on our way to the FALL-IN convention in November. We will be using the 6' x 24' table with all of the bells and whistles. There will be some construction "Parties" in September. More to follow. The August game is going to be a test of the sections completed to date (desert and one of the jungle sections should be done by then. Scenario TBD
30 Jul 2003: HISTORICON is now in the past. WOW! What a CON! Look at some of the terrain here. The group has been invited to conduct a game at FALL-IN in Timonium MD Nov 14-16 '03. This will require a slight acceleration of construction but seems doable. Our next game is scheduled for 23 Aug at CHQ in Norfolk. Details will be posted soon.
18 Jul 2003: It has been a busy couple of months but I am now making time to get things rolling again. I have nearly completed to of the 6 x 4 sections for the 6 x 24 foot table for MARSCON '04. I will put some pics up soon. It looks like the community page at MSN has been taken down (without warning). I will either start another one, get it fixed or find another place to hang pictures of games etc. I would ask you to participate and supply pics of interest if you have them. We are scheduled for a game at 8PM on Saturday, 26 JUL at HISTORICON. It will be a simple meeting engagement with each player getting a pre-built land cruiser, a unit of infantry, a few tanks, and a couple of aircraft/vtols. PICS of table so far.
17 May 2003: Wow it has been a while. The war in Iraq is in a new phase and we have been slogging along with our Campaign. I have added a new INTSUM that has references to OLD games in it. The order for the May 24th Game is also on the web. We have had to shift the dates from the 3rd Saturday to the fourth Saturday because of work conflicts and it looks like it may well become permanent (Damn War! Getting in the way of fun stuff!). We have received tentative authorization for a 24 x 6 table at MARSCON 2004. I know it sounds big, but go HERE and look at the concept. Well gotta go back to work (I know, its Saturday, but that which we sent out has to be brought back. Semper Fi!
10 Mar 2003: Added a new INTSUM for the 15 Mar Game. Have begun working all of the hyperlinks in the self-paced course (not a happy task).
22 Feb 2003: Updating just about everything. Have built links in the web based rules and I am revamping the self aced course. The games section, ZETA 795 in particular is receiving a LOT of attention. Keep checking for more updates as we begin our descent into a veritable orgy of dice chucking, miniature slaughtering, terrain altering gaming debauchery!
18 Feb 2003: Had a great game on the 15th. Updated the Zeta 795 data in anticipation of kicking off the main campaign again. Go to the games section and give it a look-see. Next Game is 15 March. Expect orders soon. We need to get a quick inventory of our forces before we get too deep into the Campaign. There is a force list form on the Games page. MICROGEN (by Bob Vance) (to be updated soon) is available in the Rules and tools section and will build a GREAT database for you as you take your inventory. It will also help organize your units. I will post the power point unit icons soon (as soon as I find the disk).
29 Jan 2003: First update of the New Year! MARSCON was a blast! Pictures have been uploaded to the community page (link above). Several new players have reportedly been bitten by the Quickfire bug and have expressed a desire to play in the monthly games. WELCOME! Our next game is slated for 15 Feb at CHQ in Norfolk. Scenario is TBD, if you have suggestions, let me know. MARSCON details: Started set up at 1530 on Friday, started game play around 1900 with a crew that quickly grew to the 12 maximum. We called game on exhaustion at 0130 but it was still going strong. We reset the pieces and terrain and started again at 1200 and ran that until 1700 when we broke for chow. At 1900 we started again and played until 1200 when we began to pack it up. Detailed after action reports will follow in a few days. Major points: Standing in the open=bad, charging into the rear of an infantry formation and firing into them just before you plunge into their midst with bayonets slashing and hacking=good, Necrons= BAD, making a deal with the Necrons= VERY BAD, Getting caught between the Necrons and the Eldar= not so bad if you have a 100mm auto-cannon and some really hot dice! (2 shot, 2 hits, 2 critical destructions).
22 Dec 2002: Yesterday we put together the board for MARSCON. It looks GREAT! (photos) It is huge! All of the terrain builders deserve a big round of applause for this one. Without a doubt this will be center piece of the MARSCON gaming room. We are conducting a play test on the 26th of Dec at CHQ starting at 1 pm (1300 for those of us in the military). So come on down and run a company or so of infantry in what is sure to be a highlight of your gaming year!
14 Dec 2002: Sorry for the delay: The terrain for MARSCON is nearly complete. Play testing begins on 21 Dec at CHQ in Norfolk. I have added a LOAD of stories to the games page under humans/CMO Jonathan did a good job of spitting out a LOT of stories and they stitch together well. Preparations are underway to construct a Victorian era supplement for QF. The name is in the air and suggestions are welcome. The current front runner is "Spurious Empires", but your suggestions are welcome! As always if there is anything you want to see on this web site, let me know. I have added some more links for terrain construction. Go to the HOW TO section of the Wargame Links section
20 Oct 2002: Updated the Community are with pics from the 12 Oct Game. The game on the 19th of Oct went VERY well. Three games were played with different results each time. Game one: CHITOSE destroyed, IMP escaped. Game two: CHITOSE escaped, IMP destroyed. Game three, Both CHITOSE and IMP destroyed, In all cases, the Gray fleet took VERY heavy losses (2/3 or greater). Next game is slated for the 3rd Saturday in November (16 November). There will be a "working Party" at my house over the Thanksgiving weekend to build terrain for MARSCON. If you want to contribute time, material or treasure, drop a line!.
29 Sept 2002: Added a web based chat room. We'll see if it has any utility. Type "/help" when you arrive to get the commands and then change your nick to talk. Plans are well underway for MARSCON and the Oct 12th Game is looking for a home right now. The schedule was changed to accommodate a number of players that could not make it on the third Saturday of October. We should be back to the 3rd Saturday starting in November.
22 Sept 2002: The game on the 21st ROCKED! We are underway with our plans for MARSCON. If you want to contribute to the cause (building part of the city, spaceport, or industrial area, let me know and I will point you toward the right folks. Have begun toying with Quickfire Ancients, I'll let you know how it turns out. Go to the GAMES SECTION and read the latest INFO ON THE CURRENT CAMPAIGN. Significant happenings.
20 Sept 2002: Added the 17 Aug Story By Jonathan. Very cool. Dig around the Games section. You might be surprised.
13 Sept 2002: Updated the Convention site with the MARSCON web site link. We have the green light to commence SERIOUS terrain construction and scenario development. More will be posted on this soon.
Received Email:
12 Sept (PM) 2002: Updated the CMO page with a VERY good story by Jonathan.
12 Sept 2002: Updated Human page with theme song for Terran Solar Empire. Started the CMO page. I will post all the CMO stories there.
11 Sept 2002: Added maps for the Sept Game, added more Eldar History, adjusted pop-up windows to make it easier to navigate when you dig into the web site.
10 Sept 2002: Updated the Species section of the games page. Added a story by Mike for the Terran's. Updated the Eldar with a picture added to their story of Adiemus. Yesterday I added a slide show on the fall of Adiemus. The game is 21 Sept and I am hearing good things on how bloody it is going to be. The song to story exercise seems to be paying some dividends. If you have or know of a piece of music that you would like to see set to a story line in this game, let me know.
4 Sept 2002: Just completed a MAJOR update to the web site. Added the Eldar Story by John C and access to the song that inspired it. I have also added a web based version of the rules. It is a first attempt but they are usable. So take a few and "root" around a bit. You might be surprised at what you find! Preparations are still underway for the Sept 21 Game at CHQ. If anyone has any points of contact with the MARSCON group, ask them to respond to the E-mails I have been sending regarding game space for the CON in Jan. Send some feed back so I can make this site better for all involved.
1 Sept 2002: Have begun to update the website to make it more accessible to all of the community. The flash menu files, while VERY cool, were not visible through firewalls and causing the entire site to be blocked. We have begun to plan for MARSCON in earnest and have turned the quality of our monthly game terrain up a notch. Pictures will be available on thee community board. You are urged to post pics you have to the community board http://groups.msn.com/quickfire2/_whatsnew.msnw as well as conduct discussions there. Our next game is Sept 21 at Campaign Headquarters and it promises to be full of surprises! Write with comments and or post them to the discussion board in the community room. Thanks!
19 May 2002: WOW! What a great game last night! Four Fleets! Close to 100 Ships! Constant combat from 1430 until 2330 that night! THOUSANDS of casualties! High speed chases, boarding actions! RAMS! Even a couple of catastrophic MORALE FAILURES! More than a few reactor breaches and loads of helter-skelter, head-stomping, dice slinging fun! Go HERE for the power point slide show with pictures and commentary. I will "fixing" a few pictures to add the laser shots etc., but even plain, these are some great shots of a truly EPIC battle! The next game is scheduled for Saturday 15 June at Campaign Headquarters. As of now, it looks like an orbital assault on a fortified position. Details to follow.
]21 Apr 2002: Yet another delay in updates. Work and grad school continue to get in the way of fun! Well, we had an awesome game Saturday (and I needed it). I am almost done with the direct fire tutorial. You can take what there is of it at: www.quickfire2.net I still need to add the examples, but it is looking good. There are a lot of movie clips embedded, so it might take a while to down load. The 3rd Saturday of every moth seems to be working out well as far as a game schedule goes. I hope to get a few more updates into this thing as school closes out for the year. Pics from past games are on the way.
Semper Fi!
21 Mar 2002: Sorry for the delays, Grad school, the Family and, oh yea, the Global War on Terrorism, has taken a toll on my free time. Here's the latest scoop:
We had a GREAT game on 16 Mar! The Third Saturday Schedule seems to be working well for most. A large portion of the active player group will be off doing reenactment stuff and attending conventions for the next couple of months. This is an EXCELLENT opportunity for all you wall flowers out there to pop into the shop and get in a couple of games. The rules are easy, the scenario is simple (build ten armies at 100,000 point each and one space fleet with 500,000 points). We play the third Saturday of each month at Campaign Headquarters in Norfolk, Va. OTHER TOPICS: Just bought a domain name: www.quickfire2.net with advertising support to get it posted in search engines on the net. We'll see if that helps you all. It comes with a large chunk of web space that will enable me to do a lot more with this whole idea of web enabled miniature gaming. More to follow on that in a while. The self-paced course is under construction as I write and the first lesson should be done next month (another reason for the added web space). Our next game is scheduled for 20 April. Let me know if you can make it (or not as this will verify email addresses).
Semper Fi!
22 Feb 2002: The Game on 16 Feb was a great success and all involved stated they had a good time. Our next game is scheduled for Mar 16 at CHQ, Norfolk, 1430. As you move through the web site you may notice a few buttons here and there as I try to put a little polish on the web site. I am also DEEP in the process of designing the self-paced course for the game. It is killing two birds with one stone, I have to design a multi-media/hypermedia class for grad school, so I thought this might be a good place to do it. I will be sending out some questionnaires soon to get a little more granularity on the desires of the Quickfire gaming public. I am almost done with a new INTSUM that will lay out a few of the upcoming adventures (I think you're going to lover it!). Write with questions, comments or problems.
Semper Fi!
14 FEB 2002: POSTED FRAG 002 TO THE PLANET 3A CAMPAIGN SECTION. IT IS FOR THE MARCH 16TH GAME. ALSO POSTED THE MAP TO GET EVERYONE IN TUNE WITH THE MARCH 16TH GAME. USE IT TO HELP WORK OUT YOUR FUEL ISSUES. A MORE DETAILED MAP OF THE ACTUAL GAME AREA WILL BE GENERATED IN S FEW WEEKS. I AM TRYING TO GET A LITTLE AHEAD RIGHT NOW, BECAUSE I CAN. IF I GET BUSY, YOU SHOULD HAVE ENOUGH INFO TO PLAN FOR THE GAME.
10 Feb 2002: Some of you may have noticed the gradual move to a new interface. Let me know if it is working on your machines. I eventually hope to have an interactive site that will entertain as well as inform. Also in the works, is a self paced course on how to conduct a Quickfire game. That is scheduled for completion this Spring. Depending on the success of that project, there may be a course on planning and organizing games. I am still waiting for LZ selections for the 16 Feb Game. If you need miniatures, of any type, let me know. I can either bring a bunch with me (if I have an idea on what you need) or, we can set up a "viewing" at the armory and you can select what you need. Let me know.
9 Feb 2002: FRAG 001 has gone out to those that have submitted their LZ selection. It provides a situation update as well as how to make some money. The MAP section for Planet 3a has been updated. It has the current game map, the LZ selection map as well as the planet divided into three sectors. On Feb 16 we will be in Sector Two. The responses have been great. Keep it up.
31 Jan 2002: Sent out an automated distress report (boy were they!)
31 Jan 2002: A big thanks to Bob for pointing out a glitch in the Vehicle construction utility. It has been fixed and it now computes the required DP for weapons. This fix MAY have some impact on your army lists. DOUBLE CHECK!
30 Jan 2002: Updated the Vehicle builder to help in force construction. Use the separate sheet to help point-out your army. I have been impressed with the questions everyone has been sending. This promises to be a great campaign.
26 Jan 2002: Updated the vehicle builder program to account for buildings. Click the "None0" option in the propulsion block to "point out" a building. I also added a "Build Time" calculation (total cost/50=number of turns from order to delivery. This will, in most cases, have no impact on the campaign, but it could impact individual games. The number of games delay is still up in the air. I have also posted the "Basic Order" for the campaign on Planet 3A. Fragmentary, or Frag orders, will be published as we go along, that will change the base order as required.
21 Jan 2002: Migrated the site to COX.NET. Updated the Planet 3A Campaign pages with new maps (look under operations). 16 Feb is rapidly approaching (at least it is for me), Who plans on being there? Drop an email and let me know. general-ops-director@cox.net Let me know if there are any utilities/helpers you need to build/manage your army.
17 Jan 2002: Have begun building Planet 3A. Go to the Ground Campaigns section to see the maps and read what little info there is. As COX gets its act together, I will migrate the site to its new home. I look forward to seeing you all on 16 Feb at CHQ (1430).
NOTICE: BEGINNING FEB 16 2002, QUICKFIRE WILL PLAY AT CAMPAIGN HEADQUARTERS (CHQ) NORFOLK ON THE THIRD SATURDAY OF EACH MONTH. SEE THE CALENDAR IN THE QF COMMUNITY SECTION FOR ACTUAL DATES
14 Jan 2002: Updated the Vehicle construction program. Added the old data base as worksheets. Its a bit jumbled but it should help you. Feed-back appreciated!
14 Jan 2002: Well, MARSCON is over. It was the scene of some of the most intense gaming I have ever seen. Two games, two days, 6 hours per game of non-stop slaughter! My personal thanks to all of you that played and to Mike Duffy and Bob Vance for helping out. See the QF community for un-retouched photos of the game. I will get some doctored photos and an AAR up soon. I am about to shift the web site over to the new cox.net service. This shift may or may not cause difficulties, I'll let you know. As of now the next game is tentatively scheduled for Feb 16 at CHQ. This will mark the beginning of our new game schedule. The 3rd Saturday of each month. I will post the game dates here as well as on the group calendar. OP Orders with game details and point limitations will follow.
3 Jan 2002: Happy New Year! I am in the throes of prepping for MARSCON. We have tested the scenario and it got tweaked a little (mostly to keep the group hug crowd from making alliances and forcing the ref to force "friction Points"). It promises to be a bloody engagement with surprises for ALL! I am still tweaking the web site. I am building a more effective and significantly cooler web interface (though the HAL with the scrolling text is a current high point). Go here to get an idea of where it is headed (though I must warn you it is subject to random and radical direction changes!:)). Go here for an indicator of what is in store for you at MARSCON. Semper Fi!
19 December 2001: Began posting the reworked web site.
14 Dec 2001: The web site is under MAJOR renovation. I hope to have the new interfaces up and running this month. Would like to run a game on Saturday 22Dec. Anyone up for that? I have had to wipe and reinstall my hard drive (again!) I lost some e-mail addresses. If you know anyone interested in the update letters or this site, let me know.
30 Nov 2001: Added the QUICKFIRE flyer for MARSCON. Found a HUGE error in the EXCEL spreadsheet and fixed it! It was adding too much DP for missiles and rockets.
28 Nov 2001: Added the Ultimate MAP. I am using it to show the AOR of the General Operations Directorate. I urge you to read through this web site. I think you will find it ENTHRALLING! The possibilities are mind numbing. Zoom in to find the maps being used by other game systems. Space game at my house 1800, Thursday, 29Nov01.
